MaryAlice Bowers 813 Honeysuckle Drive Martinsburg, WV 25402
Martinsburg, WV is my family home. My husband and I have two children and three grandchildren.   We have
recently retired and are traveling for pleasure.
I graduated  from St. Joseph High School, Martinsburg and Strayer Junior College, Washington,
D.C.  After marrying and moving  to Minneapolis I attended the University of
Minnesota studying art history and interior design.
My local art  education began in Shepherdstown with Robin Young and Joe Meyer both of whom I
am so grateful for my start in Watercolor Painting.  Previously I worked in oil
and acrylic.
My  first love is painting flowers in  watercolor.  Children at play and old men are  also topics I love to paint.    I
am learning to paint landscapes with the help of Tom Lynch who is  presenting a
local workshop in Martinsburg.
Some workshops include:  Robin Young, Mohegan Island, Maine, Don Getz, Joe Mayer, most recently Skip Lawrence, And
National Gallery of Art One Day Abstract, Tom Lynch, and wonderful week with Sterling Edwards
My husband and I always visit galleries when we are traveling and I cannot imagine
my life without  art.
